Cryptocurrencies remained weak on Friday after another choppy session dented virtual coin valuations. The recent crackdown on major cryptocurrency exchange Binance also seems to be impacting the overall digital coin market.

Bitcoin (BTC) started off the day on a weak note and is struggling around the $33,000 mark. The world’s most popular cryptocurrency fell 0.60 per cent in the last 24 hours and its market capitalisation has taken a marginal hit.

Ether (ETH) continues to struggle as well. At 11:15 am, the popular cryptocurrency was down 3.80 per cent compared to its value 24 hours ago and remains just above $2,100. Meanwhile, most other altcoins have tanked more than 5 per cent.

Commenting on the crypto market weakness, Edul Patel, CEO and Co-founder of Mudrex, a global algorithm based crypto trading platform, said, “It was another choppy session for the cryptocurrency spectrum. Most of the cryptos fell for the second consecutive day. Bitcoin is struggling around the $33000 mark.”

“Most of the altcoins tanked more than 5 per cent. The technical indicators point to an overall bearish market in the short term. Ether is still above the $2100 mark. Solana is facing severe selling pressure and dropped by more than 8 per cent,” he added.

Patel indicated that the sell-off witnessed in the cryptocurrency market could continue into the weekend if “crucial support levels” for either Bitcoin or Ether are broken.

“Levels to watch out for are $32,000 in BTC and $2000 in ETH,” he added.
